This post means that it's all over.
I've been struggling to come to terms with that.

When Thursday morning rolled around, Jared and I walked to McCook, Nebraska. John Boeder, remember him and Maile from Aurora?? Well, they set us up with their friend Dale who offered to host us once we got to McCook. The walk was a tough one, as I had multiple blisters form and Jared hurt his foot. (Here is a tip for future walkers… Break new shoes in gradually. Do not attempt to do a full walk on your first day wearing them!) Before leaving Greenfield, I took some time to listen to some new music that a group of my friends made under the moniker "Choir 9." I took some notes and mailed them to the bands creator. I won't tell you too much because I would hate to give anything away... but I can tell you that the music was pretty fantastic. I took off down 92 and walked a ways before I was stopped by a man named Allan and his wife. They allowed me to interview them, but then the unexpected happened! Click to find out what happened next! On Thursday, July 9th, I woke up at the Anderson's house and finished up my blog post. I interviewed Paul and we had a long talk before I started on my way out of Naperville. I cannot thank the Anderson's enough for their hospitality. It was great getting to connect with Paul and the legend that is their dog named "Beanbag." I walked to US 30 Motel and crashed. I was on my way East. June 17th brought about a lot of blog work. My dad went and got some food from a German restaurant and I had my first taste of goulash. It wasn't too bad! I finished my blog entry just before it was time to go to the show, which was conveniently across the street. My dad and I took our seats and readied for the show. While waiting I discussed my trip with the people sitting next to us. Brian happened to be from Boulder, Colorado. Who knows? Maybe I'll see him down the road. I am long overdue for a post! Hopefully I can keep from rambling too much! I woke up in Summerville to very hard rain. After much deliberation, I decided that walking up and down hills in such bad weather wouldn't be a smart thing to do. I booked the hotel room for another night to wait out the weather. Thirty minutes after rebooking the room, it stopped raining. It wouldn't rain again for three days. On Monday, May 18th, My friend Brian Strickland came down to join Cole and I on our day's excursion. Brian is a kindhearted individual that is highly invested in music and the people he meets. Brian picked Cole and me up around 2PM and we headed out to a place known as "The Goat Farm." The Goat Farm is hard to put into words. When we arrived, we had no idea of what to do or where to go. I was so glad that I got to reconnect with Julie and meet many of her friends. After watching Julie perform, I met her beau Andy and we went back to her house with some of her friends in tow. Dusty and Adam played some music for us while we kicked back and hung out a bit. Andy and I had some pretty thought-provoking discussions and it was a good time all around. The next morning, May 11th, brought about my departure from Milledgeville... Sort of. May 7th I woke up to say goodbye to all my Statesboro friends. I wish I could have stayed one more day for graduation, but I had moves to make! Luckily, my good friend Scott Underwood gave me some new reading material and a new pal to take on my adventure. Shortly after, I was off, headed down Fair Road until I was out of downtown and onto the highway.
On May 4th, 2015 at 8:45 AM I started my journey from Tybee Island, Georgia to San Francisco, California. The vine posted to the right ----------------->
will be completed once I reach the other ocean. A complete 360. I am currently on my 3rd day of travel, but before I can get into the meat of what has happened thus far, I have to discuss what has happened since the last time I posted! 3,300 miles are on the horizon!! Just a warning this post may be a bit lengthy. |
